About the Free White iPhone 4

The fourth generation iPhone takes the classic design in a new direction. With a stainless steel surround, machined steel buttons and a glass casing, the white iPhone 4 is almost 25 percent thinner than the iPhone 3GS.

iPhone 4 hardware

Major hardware improvements have been made to the new white iPhone 4. The new 3.5-inch 960 x 640 pixel Retina display screen is the centre piece of these improvements. A front-facing camera combined with the integrated microphone and speaker allows video calling using Apple's new FaceTime software.

Processing power is provided by the A4 CPU, designed in-house by Apple and also used in the iPad. This more efficient processor gives a boost in performance as well as improved battery life.

The camera has been upgraded to a 5 mega pixel specification with auto focus and LED flash. The camera is also able to shoot HD video at 720p resolution and 30 frames-per-second.

iPhone 4 connectivity

The SIM free white iPhone 4 offers integrated Wi-Fi 802.11n, quad-band HSDPA/HSUPA for mobile broadband at up to 7.2Mbps as well as Bluetooth and GPS. Other multimedia features are an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor. Battery performance
